On January 28, 2014, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)issued a consumer warning advising against purchase and consumption of Thinogenics, one of many unsafe “skinny pills” on today’s market. Evidently the product contains the banned drug sibutramine, even though distributors thought they were safe with a “Certificate of Analysis.” Understand that a COA is a document issued by an industry review group for one lot of products – hardly a ringing endorsement. From the FDA website/warning: “FDA laboratory analysis confirmed that Thinogenics contains sibutramine. Sibutramine is a controlled substance that was removed from the market in October 2010 for safety reasons. The product poses a threat to consumers because sibutramine is known to substantially increase blood pressure and/or pulse rate in some patients and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. These products may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking.” Further, “Health care professionals and patients are encouraged to report adverse events or side effects related to the use of these products to the FDA’s MedWatch Safety Information and Adverse Event Reporting Program.” The tainted supplements database on the FDA site lists HUNDREDS of products consumers thought were ‘safe.’
I am so grateful that with the exception of the actual Moringa Oleifera leaf to parts ratio in Zija’s proprietary blend (the “secret recipe” as it were) the manufacturing facility in Lehi, Utah has an ‘open door’ policy. Join me at Zija’s Summit this September 25-27 and WALK THROUGH the facility, view the clean rooms through the glass and watch the process as well as view the quality control computer system broadcast its standings throughout the warehouse. Our products are not brought in the back door by a faceless importer….we grow our own trees on our guarded farm in India (you can visit that, too!) We have Harvard PhDs in charge of product line.
Friends, know what you’re putting in your body….make it the good stuff. Make it ZIJA.
